At 6:55am on January 21, 2009, Sugar Bear Trio said…: Darren,in the parade yesterday for President Obama Wolf Blitzer and Solidad O"brian interviewed Quincy Jones by telephone.Mr Jones had set at his home before President Obama decided to run in 2006 talked with Oprah and President Obama about this country The United States of America being the only country in the world that does not have a secretary of the arts.Mr. Jones said he asked a college student if he new who Louis Armstrong was,the student replied"I have heard of him".Along with Quincy Jones I urge peacefully to lobby with him for a secretary of arts and culture for The United States of America.I was shocked at this news.I had to ask and I was always told don"t ask if you don"t want to no by my mother.I asked my 16 year old Klayton if he knew who Louis Armstrong was.I was ashamed when he said "I think so".I was raised by a single mother in a time in America when it wasn"t semi standard.She taught us in between 3 jobs music and art appreciation and American culture.She hated segregation but the rest of her heart is filled with love for America.Do your kids no who "Sachmo" is?If not let"s not all wallow in SHAME.I think Quincy Jones has paid enough dues to have a voice and he believes America NEEDS a secretary of Art and Culture.My heart and my soul no this man is right.Thank you ,Sugar Bear.We will not be calling into the show time prevents.This is relevant to the project if you could mention this on the show Sugar Bear Trio would be grateful.
