In Greek mythology Cora was a byname of the goddess Persephone and it was the name of one of the main female characters in 'the Last of the Mohicans' by James Fenimore Cooper. Cora is also Scottish, and bears the same meaning as the Greek (maiden,girl) It is also our sons' Great-Great Grandmothers' name, Cora Black!
